San Francisco (and several other cities in the US) have flocks of wild parrots. These parrots are either escapees from captivity or the offspring of escaped birds. In San Francisco, the parrots were first noticed around Telegraph Hill, in the North Beach neighborhood. Eventually, in 2003, a documentary film was made about them. Later, other flocks appeared in other parts of the city. The birds in this photo are from the Telegraph Hill flock. They are mostly tame.
